On November 7, the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled (KEAD) and Korea University (KU) formalized their commitment to fostering inclusive employment through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) titled “Advancing Disabled Employment for Social Value and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Management.” This collaborative effort seeks to not only amplify ongoing initiatives for disabled employment but also guarantee job stability; the organizations aim to cultivate a workplace that is conducive to individuals with disabilities, fostering a positive work environment.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Employment Agency will conduct a comprehensive analysis of suitable roles for disabled individuals, present innovative employment models, and deliver a spectrum of employment services. These services will encompass recruitment and vocational training, all designed to bolster KU’s commitment to ESG management through the meaningful inclusion of disabled individuals in the workforce.

Director Cho Hyang-hyun underscored the momentous nature of this collaboration, emphasizing that it challenges Korea University to explore diverse roles for disabled individuals, setting an exemplary standard in the education sector and encouraging a sustained focus on disabled recruitment. KU President Kim Dong-One also commented on the initiative, pledging active efforts to expand more inclusive employment opportunities within the university.
