To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the College of Health Science of Korea University (KU), a Harvard-Stanford-Korea University joint conference was held on November 17 in the multimedia room of Hana Square from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. The conference consists of three major sections: ‘Ecological and Social Challenges for Resilient City’, ‘Improving Health Care System Efficiency’ and ‘Health Equity Challenges.’

The first session covered the use of urban green areas during the epidemic in Korea as well as the impact of climate change on megacities. Session two discussed the evidence of Diabetes management as a means of explaining the net value of medical spendings and examined the efficiency of health care spendings in Korea. Session three focused on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and argued for the needs of having a precise public policy to achieve them.

The lecturers expressed their strong desires to shift the global landscape in a way that highlights significant threats to global health. “The College of Health Science is preparing for more meaningful events after the conference,” Professor Park Jae Yong (Biosystems Medical Science) stated, asking for enhanced support towards the KU College of Health Science as it embarks on a new 60-year adventure.
